Thunder Hawks Roll to 8-2 Win Over Grasshoppers
|
The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks topped the San Bernardino Grasshoppers, 8-2, with left fielder Pat Pending playing a big role. Pending went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 2 times for the Thunder Hawks in the win. Rubén Vázquez was the winner. Over 5.2 innings, he allowed no runs on 6 hits, with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts. Ft. Polk South is now 25-18, San Bernardino 21-22.
Pending went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles. He scored 2 times against the Grasshoppers. With the game tied in the bottom of the third inning, he reached on an error by the 2B, driving in 1 run that scored 1 and put Ft. Polk South in front, 1-0.
