Ramírez Leads Screaming Eagles to Win
Mercer Island designated hitter Emílio Ramírez made his presence felt in the 17-6 Screaming Eagles triumph over the Lake Minnetonka Love Boats. Ramírez was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times and driving in 6. Mercer Island reliever Carlos Cardoso was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Giuseppe Farina took the loss for Lake Minnetonka. With the win over Lake Minnetonka, the Screaming Eagles improved to 25-18.

Ramírez contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Mercer Island in the top of the fourth. With his team trailing 6-5, Ramírez took a fastball from Giuseppe Farina and stroked the home run to right. His 5th home run of the season allowed the Screaming Eagles to leap in front, 8-6.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Ramírez.
