The Atlantic City Sonics racked up a win at Sonics Ballpark, bumping off the Lake Minnetonka Love Boats, 4-3. Ron Sinnocks, who started for Atlantic City, pitched effectively for his team. Atlantic City reliever Jimmy Pineda picked up the win to move to 3-1. Sean Mosley suffered the loss. The save was credited to José González, his 8th.
Atlantic City took a 4-1 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. With two out, right fielder Bill Stanton hit a 3-run home run that electrified the crowd.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Atlantic City skipper Ricardo Betancourt. "I can't complain."
The winning streak has now reached 5 games for the Sonics.
