Mireles Goes Wild, But Thunder Hawks Win
|
Ft. Polk South withstood an impressive performance by Virginia center fielder Ricardo Mireles to defeat the Palladium Sox, 7-3, at Thunder Hawks Ballpark. Mireles went 3-3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Sasheer Zamata got credit for the win, improving to 3-1. He allowed 1 run on 8 hits in 5.1 innings. Ft. Polk South is now 11-11, while Virginia is 12-10.
The tide might have turned with two out in the top of the third, had not Sasheer Zamata made a big pitch. With the bases loaded and the Palladium Sox trailing 4-1, he retired Víctor Murguia, who lined out.
