Love Boats Get One-Run Win at Ft. Polk South
|
Ft. Polk South got a terrific performance from pitcher Daryl Keirl, but it wasn't enough to beat the Lake Minnetonka Love Boats. Lake Minnetonka won the Thunder Hawks Ballpark contest, 3-2. Keirl was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 5 innings of 3-hit ball. Jin-soo Jan-Hui got the win, improving to 2-0. He pitched 5.1 innings, giving up 7 hits and 1 run, while striking out 3 and walking 5. Lake Minnetonka has a record of 8-8.
It could have been a different outcome for Lake Minnetonka, had it not been for Nicol van Gorp, the 25-year old center fielder . van Gorp contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth inning to put Lake Minnetonka up, 2-1.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Lake Minnetonka manager . "Our pregame was pretty good."
