Broom Stars in Screaming Eagles Win
|
Fans who gathered at Thunder Hawks Ballpark saw a good contest between the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles and Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks.
Dave Broom helped his team muscle past the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks, 6-4. In the game, the Mercer Island right fielder was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The Screaming Eagles, now 8-4, have been playing some good baseball.
The game was all tied up in the top of the ninth, until Broom delivered big-time for Mercer Island, stroking a dramatic 2-run home run off Juan Espinosa. The game-changing hit put the Screaming Eagles on top, 6-4.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Broom.
