Sixshooters Stymie Springfield, Take 4-1 Win
|
Westwood starter Hong-yeol Chang pitched effectively against the Springfield Shooters at Sixshooters Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a 4-1 win. Chang, now 2-0, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 3, walking 3, and allowing 1 earned run. Maurice Hilliard nailed down his 2nd save.
The Sixshooters got a big at-bat from first baseman Oki Hai. For the game, Hai went 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 1st double of the season gave Westwood a 2-0 lead.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Hai told the Westwood Times.
The Sixshooters, with just their 3rd win so far in 2037, have yet to catch fire.
