Basford Dazzles in Mercer Island Win
|
Right-hander James Lendell Basford mesmerized the Atlantic City Sonics while leading the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles to a 2-0 victory. Wilson Rangel earned the save, his 1st, for the Screaming Eagles. The Screaming Eagles, now 6-3, have been playing some good baseball.
Basford's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 7 strikeouts in 8 innings while allowing 3 hits. Basford, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2033 draft, goes to 2-0 on the year with 12 strikeouts.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Basford told the Mercer Island Times.
