Victory Pushes Patriots Record to 48-38
|
The Boston Patriots picked up a win at Dunkin Donuts Park, knocking off the Chicago Silver Sox, 6-1. Starting pitcher Firpo Marberry, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. In 6.1 innings, Marberry surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. With the win, Boston has a record of 48-38. Chicago falls to 46-40.
Jorge Alejándrez, who finished 2nd in the PL in OPS with .951 last year, helped out the Boston cause in the bottom of the first inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the first baseman went 1 for 4 with a double.
"We think we're a good team overall, so we're not too surprised to win today," said Alejándrez.
