Flamingos Get 5-3 Win Versus Vancouver
|
The Las Vegas Flamingos picked up a win at The Strip, knocking off the Vancouver Grey Wolves, 5-3. Starting pitcher Darren Garland was an essential part of his team's success. Garland, now 2-6, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 5, walking 4, and allowing 2 earned runs. The save went to Vaugh Chesser, his 18th this season.
Sun-jae Kwak, the Las Vegas catcher, contributed a 2-run double in the bottom of the second inning to make the score 2-0, Flamingos. For the game, Kwak went 1 for 2 with a double and a walk. He drove in 3 runs.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Kwak, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
The Flamingos sit in 9th place in the Premier League with a record of 33-49.
