Riding the 3-hit performance of the 28-year old third baseman Ashley Thachi, the Chicago Silver Sox stopped the Charleston Battery, 9-2. The winner was Eugenio Piñeiro in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Aldo Raine took the loss. With the win over Charleston, the Silver Sox improved to 44-37.
Jeff Reed was 1-3, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Chicago. In the bottom of the fourth, with the teams deadlocked, 2-2, Reed delivered for the Silver Sox. His run-scoring sacrifice fly put Chicago on top, 3-2.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Thachi.
