Evergreens Win at Boston, 3-1
|
With first baseman Blaze Alexander leading the charge, the Portland Evergreens defeated the Boston Patriots, 3-1, at Dunkin Donuts Park. Alexander, who is tied for 8th in the PL in extra base hits with 34, was 2 for 5 with a triple and a double, while scoring 2 runs. Raúl Romero nailed down his 13th save. Portland has now won 5 games in a row.
Early in the game, Alexander had a run-scoring triple for Portland. It was his 7th triple of the season and put the Evergreens on top, 1-0.
"I like what I saw today," said Portland manager Brandon Slouck, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
