Charleston right-hander Tony Alfonso was sensational in shutting out the New Orleans Voodoo, 6-0. The Battery, now 35-28, have won 4 in a row.

The Battery grabbed the lead in the bottom of the sixth. With two out, Paco Muñóz hit a 2-run home run off Ron Manning, putting Charleston in front, 3-0. For Muñóz, it was his 12th home run of the season.

In postgame comments to the Charleston Daily, Alfonso said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
