Evergreens Fall to Grey Wolves, 5-2
|
Vancouver Grey Wolves starter Eric Matson was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Portland Evergreens, 5-2. Matson picked up the win for Vancouver, going 8 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 6-3. Sjaak Bonne earned the save for Vancouver, his 1st of the year.
Johan Kroening, who is tied for 2nd in the PL with a .986 OPS, contributed to the Vancouver win with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the first baseman had 3 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"We're feeling good in this clubhouse right now after that one," Matson told the Vancouver Bulletin.
The 4th-place Grey Wolves improved to 34-28.
