The Chicago Silver Sox got a superb performance from pitcher Gustavo Tobías. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Portland. The Evergreens won the game, 4-3. In spite of the loss, Tobías was named the player of the game. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball. The winner was Portland reliever Vicente Durango, now 4-1. The loser was Valentin Calhamar. Portland is now riding a 4-game win streak.

In the bottom of the ninth, with two out and the game tied, 3-3, center fielder Armando Rodríguez won it for Portland. With a runner on 2nd, Rodríguez hit a 0-2 curveball from Valentin Calhamar for a run-scoring double, giving his team a 4-3 win.

"The effort we put into this one paid off," Rodríguez said.
