The Boston Patriots got a sterling performance from pitcher Alberto López, but the Evergreens still prevailed, 4-2. López was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 5 innings of 3-hit ball. The win puts the Evergreens at 32-22, while the Patriots drop to 31-23.

Portland used the timely hitting of John Schaefer to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Evergreens on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I thought we played a nice game," Schaefer told the Portland Today. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
