Benefiting from Orlando Velásquez's productive game, the New Orleans Voodoo downed the Chicago Silver Sox, 10-1. Velásquez was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Voodoo. New Orleans is last in the Premier League with a record of 20-32.

With New Orleans leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Velásquez hit a fastball from Gustavo Tobías for a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Voodoo ahead, 3-0.

In comments to the New Orleans Daily News, Velásquez admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
