Battery Lose to Silver Sox, 4-2
|
The Chicago Silver Sox bested the Charleston Battery by a score of 4-2, with catcher Miguel Herrera getting the main credit. On the day, Herrera was 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Silver Sox. Fred Proctor finished to wrap up his 2nd save. The Silver Sox own a robust 32-17 mark.
Chicago used the timely hitting of Larry McLambroch to capture the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Silver Sox on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," McLambroch said.
