Battery Fall to .500 After Loss to Flamingos
|
The Las Vegas Flamingos beat the Charleston Battery, 13-8, at Charleston Armory. Las Vegas right fielder Glyn Bolasky earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 3-5 with 3 singles. The win was credited to José Sipe in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Fernando Varela took the loss. Las Vegas is in 6th place in the Premier League with a record of 23-25.
Las Vegas used the timely hitting of Sake van Arem to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Flamingos ahead, 9-7. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was an important one.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Bolasky told the Las Vegas Times.
