Grey Wolves Win at Portland, 5-2
|
Vancouver got a strong outing from Germán Rodríguez as the Grey Wolves defeated the Portland Evergreens, 5-2, at Evergreen Park. Yeon-kyu Kim sewed up the save, his 6th. Vancouver now owns a record of 25-21.
The Evergreens had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Grey Wolves going into the top of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 27-year old first baseman Johan Kroening came to the plate. Kroening hit a run-scoring single on a 1-2 fastball from Portland hurler Marcos Tejedor. It was Kroening's 52nd hit of the year.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Vancouver manager David Krause.
