Evergreens Win at New Orleans, 5-2
|
The exploits of right fielder Jérôme Masson helped the Portland Evergreens defeat the New Orleans Voodoo, 5-2. Masson went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk. Raúl Romero earned the save, his 6th. Portland is now 26-17. New Orleans is 16-27.
Masson had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the top of the third inning, when he drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Evergreens went on to win.
"This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents," Masson told the Portland Today. "Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."
