Silver Sox Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
|
The Chicago Silver Sox got a stellar performance from pitcher Rhys Maskell, who handcuffed the Philadelphia 1776 offense en route to a 6-2 win at Silver Sox Park. Chicago now has a 3-game win streak.
The BC had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Silver Sox going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the top prospect Melvin Thomas came to the plate. Thomas hit a 2-run single on a 1-0 sinker from Philadelphia 1776 hurler Blair Wright. It was Thomas's 29th hit of the year.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Thomas. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
