Washington withstood an impressive performance by Delaware third baseman Luis Rodríguez to defeat the 1787 BC, 4-3, at Washington Park. Rodríguez went 4-5 with 2 home runs and 2 singles. Washington reliever Jeffrey Chesser picked up the win to move to 2-0. Einar Engberg suffered the loss. The Generals now have a mark of 27-27.

Washington's win came gift-wrapped. With two out in the bottom of the ninth, with the game tied, Charles Atkinson reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run.
