The Valley Blue Sox got a superb performance from third baseman Richard Trevithick, but the Delaware 1787 BC still won the game, 8-6. Trevithick was named the player of the game despite the loss. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Delaware reliever Sarda Chitturu was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Bligh Madris took the loss for Valley. José González picked up the save for Delaware, his 3rd of the year.

The 1787 BC got a lift from shortstop Zacarías Salazar who had a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth inning off Bligh Madris. It was his 6th RBI of the season and put Delaware in front, 7-6.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Delaware skipper .

Losses have been few and far between for the Blue Sox so far this season. Their record drops to 8-3.
