Blaze Bang Out 8-5 Win Versus Delaware
|
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Eisse van Opdorp, the South Beach Blaze defeated the Delaware 1787 BC, 8-5. van Opdorp went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Blaze. South Beach reliever Devoid Couch picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Einar Engberg shouldered the loss. The 1787 BC, now 2-3, have been pitiful so far.
Ken Rodríguez hit a run-scoring double off César Pérez in the bottom of the seventh, which put the Blaze in front, 6-5. In addition to the double, Rodríguez had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said South Beach skipper Wilson Alvarado.
