Sonics Win at Minnesota, 4-2
|
Atlantic City rode a fine outing from starter Joaquín Pérez to victory over the Minnesota Loons at Loony Bin. The final score was 4-2. Pérez went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 0, and struck out 2. His record improves to 10-4. Butch Cummings was credited with the save for Atlantic City, his 20th of the season.
One important at-bat came with a runner on 3rd in the top of the sixth inning. Facing Minnesota hurler Ronald Beedy, Bryce Abood, who was drafted in the three round of the 2028 draft, drew a walk. The Sonics went on to win.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Atlantic City manager Leslie Brooks. "It's usually not just one thing."
At 41-25, the Sonics have a slim two-game lead in the Premier AA.
