The Seattle Aviators did just enough to sneak past the Richardson City Thundercats, 6-5, at The Thunder Dome. Seattle pitcher Bernie Sanders earned player of the game honors. Sanders, the winner, moves to 2-5. He threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 3 walks. Holden Rosen Grupp was called on to finish, recording his 17th save.
Yataro Kodo aided the Seattle cause with a 2-run double in the top of the sixth. For the game, the designated hitter was 1 for 3 with a double and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Sanders.
With the win, Seattle has a record of 42-45. Richardson City falls to 41-46.
