Still Kicking: Kingston Township Cut Phoenix Series Lead to - With Late Win
|
The Kingston Township Knights went into extra innings against the Phoenix Hotspur but ultimately moved to within one game of the Round 2 today. The Knights downed the Hotspur at Chase Field by a score of 4-1. Kingston Township right-hander Manny Castro was named player of the game after a solid outing in which he threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball. The win gives the Knights a - advantage in the best-of- Third League Championship.
Though he didn't earn the victory, Castro kept his team in the game until the bullpen took over and the Kingston Township offense came through. Over 8 innings, he allowed 4 hits and 1 run, while striking out 5.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Castro told the Kingston Township Times.
