Athletic Club KC Lose to Voodoo, 3-0
|
Pitcher Eddie Kop was sensational for the New Orleans Voodoo in his team's 3-0 triumph over the Athletic Club KC. Kop received player of the game honors, while picking up the win. In 6.2 innings, Kop surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. Grover Lowdermilk converted his 14th save in 14 tries.
The Voodoo got a big at-bat from center fielder Claudio Tappen. For the game, Tappen was 1-4 with a home run. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 6th home run of the season gave New Orleans a 1-0 lead.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Kop, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
New Orleans bumps their record to 33-24 with the win.
