Sanu drives in 5 runs, Fenix Move to 33-22
|
New Jersey third baseman Shiki Sanu was a significant contributor in his team's 6-5 triumph over the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC. He went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. He drove in 5 runs and scored once for New Jersey. New Jersey reliever Andrei-Luiz Frial picked up the win, upping his record to 4-0. Anatoly Ivanovich shouldered the loss. The Fenix, at 33-22, lead by one game in their division.
Sanu had a game-changing double in the top of the eighth. On a 0-1 fastball from Anatoly Ivanovich, he banged a 2-run double to left, giving the Fenix a 6-5 lead. It was the 8th double of the year for Sanu.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Thunder Bay manager Scott Williams. "The effort was great."
