Velásquez belts 2 home runs, Voodoo Move to 18-10
The New Orleans Voodoo defeated the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC, 12-2. Earning player of the game honors was third baseman Orlando Velásquez, who went 3-5 with 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. New Orleans starter De John Cleland was credited with the win after throwing 104 pitches over 9 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. The Voodoo bumped their record to 18-10 with this latest triumph.

Velásquez had a big at-bat with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the bottom of the first inning, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Voodoo went on to win.

"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Velásquez told the New Orleans Gazette. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
