Thundercats Topple Hotspur with Late Rally
|
The Richardson City Thundercats eked out a 4-3 win versus the Phoenix Hotspur at The Thunder Dome. Nobody did more than pitcher Gustavo Tobías, who captured player of the game honors. Richardson City reliever Calvin Beck picked up the win, upping his record to 2-3. Roger Taylor shouldered the loss. The Hotspur, now 14-7, continue their slow start.
The Thundercats were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when left fielder Juan Macíel turned a 2-1 cutter from Roger Taylor into a 2-run double. The walk-off double sent a roar through the crowd and gave Richardson City a thrilling 4-3 win.
"This place was rockin'," Macíel said.
