The New Jersey Fenix topped the Richardson City Thundercats, 7-5, in United States Silver League action at The Thunder Dome. The player of the game was New Jersey pitcher and Detroit, Michigan native Brantford Winstworth III. Winstworth III, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 7.2 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 4 walks. Nam Yee Yong closed the door for New Jersey, picking up his 1st save of the year.
Alexis Raimbault helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 3-run home run to give New Jersey a 3-0 lead.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said New Jersey manager Beau Carsten.
With the win, New Jersey elevates its record to 1-1.
