D.C. Bats Go Silent in 2-0 Loss
|
Philadelphia 1776 BC starter Elroy Thompkins turned in an exceptional performance against the D.C. Divided at Ben Franklin Memorial Coliseum, resulting in a Philadelphia 1776 win, 2-0. In 7.1 innings, Thompkins surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. The BC bumped their record to 53-49 with this latest triumph.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 3rd and two out in the bottom of the sixth inning. That's when left fielder Jake Grant, who is rated as the 86th best prospect by BNN, drew a walk. The BC went on to win.
Thompkins said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
