BC Topple Evergreens with Late Rally
|
Philadelphia 1776 and Portland duked it out at Ben Franklin Memorial Coliseum and the BC came out victorious.
The Philadelphia 1776 BC relied on the hitting of first baseman Eddie Sachs to stop the Portland Evergreens, 5-4. For the game, Sachs went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Tony Solíz closed it out for his 23rd save.
Sachs had a game-changing double in the bottom of the eighth. On a first pitch fastball from Keith Rojas, he banged a run-scoring double to left, giving the BC a 5-4 lead. It was the 20th double of the year for Sachs.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Sachs told reporters after the game.
The BC improved to 50-47.
