BC Score Late, Stun Patriots, 8-6
|
The Boston Patriots got a sterling performance from pitcher Jaganmani Vivek, but the BC still prevailed, 8-6. Vivek was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 6 innings of 5-hit ball. Philadelphia 1776 reliever Tony Solíz was the winner. His record is now 8-5. Leo Ingelbrigtsen took the loss. Philadelphia 1776 is now 44-43, Boston 51-36.
The BC were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when first baseman Eddie Sachs turned a 1-2 fastball from Leo Ingelbrigtsen into a 3-run home run. The walk-off home run sent a roar through the crowd and gave Philadelphia 1776 a thrilling 8-6 win.
"It's a thrill to get that kind of win," Sachs said.
