Extra-Inning Win by BC over Stingers
|
Philadelphia 1776 played host to Toledo at the friendly confines of Ben Franklin Memorial Coliseum.
The Philadelphia 1776 BC beat the Toledo Stingers, 7-6, at Ben Franklin Memorial Coliseum. The win was largely due to the efforts of third baseman Phil Moore, who captured player of the game honors. He went 4-6 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. With the win, Philadelphia 1776 is 5-1.
Moore had a game-changing single in the bottom of the 11th. On a 0-2 fastball from Bill Edmonds, he banged a run-scoring single to left-center, giving the BC a 7-6 lead. It was the 13th hit of the year for Moore.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Moore. "And not try to do too much."
