BC Fall Short at Las Vegas
|
The Strip was the site of a competitive game between the Philadelphia 1776 BC and Las Vegas Flamingos.
With center fielder Ruud van Ineveld leading the charge, the Las Vegas Flamingos defeated the Philadelphia 1776 BC, 5-4, at The Strip. van Ineveld, who is tied for 2nd in the PL in stolen bases with 21, was 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. Las Vegas reliever Seishiro Sai picked up the win to move to 2-0. Tony Solíz suffered the loss.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With no one out, van Ineveld hit a fastball from Tony Solíz for a solo home run. The Flamingos, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"I was a little disappointed," said Philadelphia 1776 manager Josh Swain. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
Las Vegas is now 29-23, while Philadelphia 1776 is 26-26.
