Fans who came to Great Northern Field watched the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC and the New Amsterdam Dutchmen fight to the finish.

The Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC grabbed a 6-5 win over the New Amsterdam Dutchmen at Great Northern Field. Thunder Bay first baseman António Mendoza went 2-3 with a home run, a triple, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 to earn player of the game honors. Jon Briddon was the winning pitcher. Over 6.1 innings, he allowed 1 run on no hits, with 4 walks and 5 strikeouts. Dino Moonglampers, credited with the save, is now 5 for 6 in save opportunities.

Mendoza contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Thunder Bay in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, Mendoza took a cutter from Floyd Cala and stroked the home run to right. His 7th home run of the season allowed the Northern Lions BC to leap in front, 2-1.

"Feels good to get the job done," Mendoza said after the game.

New Amsterdam now has a 6-game losing streak.
