Dutchmen Continue Skid Thanks to Kong, Northern Lions BC
The Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC beat the New Amsterdam Dutchmen, 9-7, at Great Northern Field. Hou Kong was recognized as player of the game for his performance. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 5. The 26-year old first baseman was a menace to New Amsterdam all day. Thunder Bay reliever Quentin Bowers was credited with the win, to go to 5-11. WyDale Curry took the loss for New Amsterdam. Mitchell Atwell earned his 8th save in 9 chances.

Kong contributed a big hit, a 2-run double, for Thunder Bay in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 1-0, Kong took a fastball from WyDale Curry and stroked the double to left. His 4th double of the season allowed the Northern Lions BC to leap in front, 2-1.

"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Kong said.

The Dutchmen, now 45-61, have lost 5 in a row.
