Hasegawa Helps Thundercats Run Win Streak to 3
|
The Richardson City Thundercats beat the Athletic Club KC, 8-6, at The Thunder Dome. The win was largely due to the efforts of designated hitter Kazuyoshi Hasegawa, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4. Emershan Naidoo got the win, improving to 5-3. He worked 6 innings, giving up 3 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 1. Calvin Beck, credited with the save, is now 5 for 10 in save opportunities.
Hasegawa had a key at-bat for Richardson City early in the game. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 15th home run of the season and gave Richardson City an early 2-0 lead.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Hasegawa said after the game.
Richardson City is now 44-50, Athletic Club KC 48-46.
