Hotspur Jolt Coeur with Late Rally
|
The Hotspur had to overcome a good performance from St. Louis pitcher David Moore to claim a 4-3 win at Chase Field. Moore went 7.1 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Phoenix reliever Morris Prinkey was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Jaime van de Weideven took the loss. Phoenix is now 43-51, while St. Louis is 41-53.
Harumi Takaki was the walk-off hero for Phoenix. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Hotspur designated hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
Takaki said this kind of win gives the team "a buzz."
