Atlanta No Match for Franco Sunday, September 18th, 2033 The Chicago Gold Sox did little to support starter Jesús Franco against the Atlanta Smoke, but it turned out he didn't need the help. The left-hander spun a complete game shutout against the Smoke, striking out 7 and surrendering 7 hits. The performance from Franco allowed Chicago to escape with the 2-0 win despite an anemic offense. "Nobody came to me and said 'Jesús, we're gonna need you to win this one for us today,' but I could feel it," Franco told BNN reporters following the win. "I'm the guy that will step up for you when you need it." So far this year Franco has made 22 starts, tossed 168.2 innings, struck out 117 batters and walked 34.
