Fenix Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Dutchmen
|
New Jersey beat New Amsterdam on the strength of starter Doran Turchin's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 7-3 win. New Jersey reliever Gil Brown picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Nelle Liefting was saddled with the loss. New Jersey is now 52-40.
Michael Cochran was the walk-off hero for New Jersey. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Fenix center fielder hit a dramatic grand slam home run to send the teams home.
Cochran called the win "a collective effort."
