Flamingos Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
The Las Vegas Flamingos defeated the Chicago Gold Sox, 6-4, in United States Premier League action at The Strip. Baldomero Avino received player of the game honors. The 9-year veteran was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Las Vegas reliever Allen Blair, now 1-0. The loser was Tony Alfonso. The win lifts Las Vegas to a record of 13-6.

Jeff Young had a clutch at-bat with one out in the bottom of the sixth for the Flamingos. Coming up with the bases loaded and Las Vegas trailing 4-3, he hit a bases-clearing double.

"This is truly a great team to play with," Avino said after the game. "We're like brothers, and when we come together to pull out the win, that just makes it all the better."
