Thundercats Win Thriller, 8-4
|
The Richardson City Thundercats topped the Buckhead Bowties, 8-4, in United States Silver League action at The Thunder Dome. The player of the game was Richardson City right fielder Juan Jose Hernández. Gustavo Tobías, credited with the win, is now 4-4. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1 innings. Richardson City is now 35-38, Buckhead 52-21.
Hernández had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the ninth. On a 1-2 cutter from George Frazier, he banged a grand slam home run to left, giving the Thundercats a 8-4 lead. It was the 16th home run of the year for Hernández.
"Juan Jose is still learning," said Thundercats manager Imran Kopitar. "The sky's the limit for him."
