Northern Virginia Wins Game in Extras; On Verge of R2035
The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids went into extra innings against the Vancouver Grey Wolves but ultimately moved to within one game of the Round 2035 today. The Rainbow Mermaids downed the Grey Wolves at Wolf Den in Vancouver by a score of 2-1. Northern Virginia right-hander Ricardo García was named player of the game after a solid outing in which he threw 8 innings of 6-hit ball. The win gives the Rainbow Mermaids a - advantage in the best-of- Round 2034.

Eustacio Tafalla's hit in the top of the tenth was a game-changer. With one out, he rapped a fastball from Ramón Costello for a run-scoring single. It put Northern Virginia in front, 2-1.

"This was a good win for us," said Tafalla. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
