Portland Evergreens first baseman John Ennis was the difference-maker at 5 Paces Park today, winning player of the game honors as he led his club to victory in a pivotal Game of the Round 2034. The Evergreens took the 6-3 win over the Buckhead Bowties to seize a - lead in the best-of- series.
The game turned with one out in the top of the eighth when Ennis, who is rated as the 17th best prospect by BNN, hit a grand slam home run. It propelled the Evergreens into the lead, 6-2.
"It feels good to get this one," Ennis told the Portland News.
Game 4 is set to be played tomorrow in Atlanta. Slated to start are Nassim El-Badwi for Portland and Wiley Fritzler for Buckhead.
