In a pivotal Game , the Boston Patriots were hoping for a big game from starter José Sánchez. They got one.
The left-hander shut out the Phoenix Hotspur, proving to be the difference-maker as he led his club to a 4-0 victory. The Patriots took the 4-0 win over the Phoenix Hotspur to seize a - lead in the best-of- series.
In the bottom of the third, Boston shortstop Juan Alvarado had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 1st and no one out, Alvarado stroked a 2-run home run to right. It made the score 2-0, Boston. For the game, he went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Alvarado told the Boston Times.
