Host Grey Wolves Drop Pivotal Game , Now Trail Series -

The Portland Evergreens went into extra innings against the Vancouver Grey Wolves but ultimately moved to within one game of the Round 2 today. The Evergreens downed the Grey Wolves at Wolf Den in Vancouver by a score of 3-2. Portland right-hander Gerald Keller was named player of the game after a solid outing in which he threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball. The win gives the Evergreens a - advantage in the best-of- Round 1.
John Ennis's hit in the top of the 11th was a game-changer. With two out, he rapped a fastball from Francisco Valdés for a run-scoring double. It put Portland in front, 3-2.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Keller. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
